Cowboys fans were left disappointed after the team lost to the 49ers in the Wild-Card Weekend. The Cowboys drew a less than favorable opponent because of the luck they have had. Forget about the records coming into the game. Cowboys fans knew that this would be a hard game for Dallas to win. The 49ers were too physical upfront for the Cowboys on both sides of the ball. SF dominated the trenches in the first half.
While many are sad and disappointed at the outcome, no one should be surprised that Dallas dropped the ball in such a prominent spot. Throughout the season, I mentioned this many times. I have followed this team for a long time, and this is how it works. The Boys will run away before ringing the doorbell. Had the Cowboys been able to defeat the Niners, they would have received a second home game in the playoffs. I told people what was going to happen and Shannon and Stephen A. Smith did the same.
One must ponder if this latest Dallas blunder is enough to send fans off the deep end. The Cowboys players were making their way to the locker room when fans in AT&T stadium threw trash on the field.
The refs were the actual targets of fans. The officials didn't cost Dallas the game if they threw trash at anyone. Dallas lost the game by digging a hole and not being strong enough to climb out of it. It wouldn't shock me if one of those involved was trying to get a player in white and blue. The Cowboys were down 13-0 at the half and it wasn't because of the officials. They aren't the reason why Dak was sacked five times. The refs didn't call for the quarterback to run up the middle of the field with no timeouts.
The Cowboys were pushed around by the 49ers. Jimmy Garoppolo threw a touchdown and Dallas picked him off once. Jimmy G passed for 172 yards and the Niners won by seven points. Dallas needs to get more rugged in the trenches. The Cowboys gave up 169 yards on the ground. Jimmy G dropped back to pass 25 times. Garoppolo did just enough to win.
Cowboys fans, this comes from a place of love. The team is doomed. It has been this way for a long time. The franchise will continue to tease the fans for as long as Jerry Jones is the leader of Big D. This will be the outcome every time, until Jerry decides to stop hiring and grooming puppet coaches.
Mike McCarthy is a difference-maker. Jones tried to sell us something a couple of weeks ago. Jones recently tried to convince the team that Ezekiel is still an important part of the team. Jerry commented on that around Christmas. Against San Francisco, Zeke carried the ball 12 times for 31 yards. His longest run was nine yards. Elliot rushed another 11 times for 22 yards after that nine-yard carry. There was some impact.
Fans, stop blaming officials and throwing trash on the field. Another early playoff exit. The team can't get back to the conference title game, they can't even make another Super Bowl appearance. The game has passed Mike McCarthy by. Kellen Moore will probably get a head coaching offer, but he shouldn't. You will hear about Moore interviewing for head coaching vacancies by the end of the week. The high-powered offense ran seven more plays than the Niners but had 34 fewer yards. The offense couldn't get the job done when it mattered.
It is possible that Jones used up all the good karma within his first eight years of owning the team. Jerry won all three of his titles that year. We are set to begin another season of unfulfilled promises from the Jones family. We need to do that. We get to the season and they never do anything. It is the same bullshit in a different toilet with this team. All can have it.
