Burnley v Watford: Home side requests postponement because of injuries and Covid

In the FA Cup, the Clarets lost to Championship side Huddersfield in January.

A high number of injuries and Covid-19 cases in the squad has led to the request for the game against Watford to be postponed.

The fixture was supposed to be played in December but was called off because of an outbreak.

The game was postponed on Saturday.

The latest request would be reviewed later on Monday.

If a club has 13 outfield players and one goalkeeper, they must play a game.

It will be the 22nd top-flight match this season to be rearranged because of coronaviruses, if the game is postponed.

In December, the games against Aston Villa andEverton were postponed because of Covid-19 cases.

Sean Dyche and a number of first-team players were absent from the club because of the illness, which resulted in them being knocked out of the FA Cup.

The application to delay the game was reluctantly submitted due to a high number of injuries and Covid-19 cases within the squad, according to the statement.
