A problem with the equipment on the new rocket has been fixed.

The Space Launch System is set for its maiden flight in March.

A glitch with an engine controller was identified last month.

All four engine controllers performed well in tests last week after the component was replaced.

They act as the "brains" for each of the powerful engines that help propel the SLS into space, communicating with the rocket to provide precise control of the engine and diagnose any problems.

At the end of last year, some electronics on the controller for engine four failed to power up consistently during a test.

For the first time in over forty years, astronauts will travel to the Moon.

Engineers put the controllers through their paces in further testing last week, after all the controllers were powered up and performed as expected.

The Vehicle Assembly Building is located at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The full system is 98m high and taller than the Statue of Liberty.

This version of the SLS will generate over 8 millionlb of thrust.

This is 15% more powerful than the one that launched people to the Moon in the 1960s and 70s.

This SLS is being prepared for a mission called Artemis-1, which will see the rocket launch Nasa's Orion spacecraft towards the Moon.

The SLS will launch from Florida.

The first crewed launch of the SLS and Orion systems is in 2024.

The final stage of testing for the Artemis-1 hardware is the wet dress rehearsal where the SLS is loaded with liquid propellants.

The first people to land on the moon in 42 years will be on the Artemis 3 mission.

If everything goes well, it could launch in 2025.

The crew members who will touch down on the Moon as part of this mission have yet to be announced, but Nasa is training a select pool of astronauts to fly the Orion spacecraft.
