Bellator London: Michael 'Venom' Page gets title shot against Yaroslav Amosov

Michael 'Venom' Page has won six fights in a row.

Yaroslav Amosov will face Michael 'Venom' Page in London for the title on 13 May.

The first British fighter to challenge for a world title on home soil is the 34 year old, while Amosov defends his belt for the first time.

The bout will be broadcast on the iPlayer.

Everyone knows what I can do in my country. It makes sense to him, he said.

I don't think he has a choice but to come to London. It doesn't matter who has the belt, it matters who has the biggest reputation. You're not going to sell that fight anywhere else.

I'm not here to win the title.

There are only two British world champion in the USA's two biggest mixed martial arts promotions. Liam McGeary was the light-weight champion of Bellator in the year 2014, after Michael Bisping achieved the feat in the UFC.

Page had to be convinced to accept the fight even though he was offered the chance to become the second Briton to win a title.

He lost to Douglas Lima in a trilogy decider in October of last year, but he wanted to win it again. His only loss was that one.

His team believed that the best option was to fight Amosov for the belt and then fight for the title again.

"I was trying to go away from the title, but now it makes sense," Page said.

I've always said I'm not here for the title. It will come. You will end up with a title if you keep winning.

That's never been my goal. My goals have been to entertain and make changes. A lot of things need to change.

You have to be in a position to make changes, but those are more important than just the bling.

Amosov is the best guy in MMA.

Amosov is an elite wrestler and grappler who has won 26 pro fights. In what was mostly a wrestling contest, the 28-year-old swept aside the 29-year-old in a unanimous decision.

Many would consider his opponent the best in MMA right now because of his perfect record.

"The guy is amazing," Page said. He's the best guy in MMA right now. I think he's at the top of his game.

He was the only one who was ahead of him, and he retired now. He's good everywhere. Excellent wrestler, good with his submissions.

He's not that dangerous standing up, but his understanding of stand-up makes him dangerous.

It means he's hard to hit and he sets up his takedowns well. He is dangerous. It's a great fight for me to see where I am.
