Trump has been talking trash about Ron DeSantis in private, saying the Florida gov. has a 'dull personality' and is ungrateful: report

Donald Trump slammed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for being "ungrateful" and said the governor has a "dull personality".
According to sources who spoke to Jonathan Swan, Trump has criticized DeSantis multiple times in private.

One source who spoke to Swan under the condition of anonymity said that he usually gives a pop in the nose to DeSantis in the middle of a conversation. He says that DeSantis has a dull personality.

According to the source, Trump goes out of his way to say that he doesn't care about having to take DeSantis on to win the GOP nomination.
A second anonymous source told Swan that Trump was annoyed with DeSantis because he hadn't ruled out a presidential run in the future.
The former president said in private that he doesn't understand what the big deal is for the congressman to say he won't run against him.

The second source told Swan that the former president was annoyed by the fact that the governor would have been elected without his endorsement.

According to the report, Trump has been keeping an eye on who has ruled out running. Former Vice President Mike Pence, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie have all said that they would run for president in 2024.
Trump is seen as a leading contender to be the Republican presidential ticket. On the first anniversary of the Capitol attack, people gathered outside Mar-a-Lago to pick their second favorite for the ticket, and Florida's governor was the second favorite, according to Insider's report.
In October, he said that he is not considering a presidential run because he is busy trying to make sure people are not supporting critical race theory.

There were rumors that there was tension between him and Trump. He admitted on a conservative show this week that he wished he'd been louder in his opposition to Trump when he was president.

Trump is open to having the Florida governor as a running mate.

In November, Trump said that he will probably wait until after the elections to make a decision on whether to run for president.
