Stephen A. isn't worried about the Warriors.
Stephen A. Smith believes that the Warriors will be fine despite the recent injuries and lack of production. There is a time and a place for it.
Draymond Green will be out for at least two more weeks after the team said that he has a disc in his lower back and that it is related to the left calf injury.
Green left the game against Cleveland early because of a sore calf. He was on the court for the opening tip but left after Klay Thompson came back.
The Warriors said Green had an exam the night of the game and has been evaluated by several specialists. The Warriors said that Green will continue to receive physical therapy in the coming days and that he will be evaluated in two weeks.
Steve Kerr said before the game that the main thing was to be safe. It's a long season. I think we're very cautious. We'll see where it goes from there.
"Draymond will receive physical therapy in the coming days and will continue to be monitored by the team's medical and training staff," the Warriors said in a statement. He will be reexamined in two weeks.
Green, 31, has had a resurgence this season for the Warriors, shooting a career-high 53.7% from the field and averaging 7.9 points, 7.6 rebound and 7.4 assists.
Kerr expects to give more minutes to Jonathan Kuminga, who was moved into the starting lineup because of Green's absence.
Green's absence coincides with Thompson's season debut, so Golden State has yet to see its full roster. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Green haven't all appeared in a game together in a while.
"We're all looking forward to that," Kerr said. This season, nothing surprises me. My 29 colleagues are not surprised by anything. The games go on. Prepare for them and do your best.
