A source told Chris that the end-of-season meeting with team chair Jody Allen and general manager John Schneider did not discuss Pete Carroll's job security.

The meeting reviewed the team's first losing season in six years, and looked ahead to the next one, according to the source, who said that all systems are in place for the future.

Both Schneider and Carroll signed extensions within the last year and a half and are under contract for the next two seasons. Allen has been the team's defacto owner since her brother Paul Allen died.

When asked if there was any question about his future with the team, he said "no" and that he expected to be back in 2022. The Seattle Seahawks finished with a 7-10 record after beating the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18.

The year before Schneider and Carroll arrived, the Seahawks suffered their most losses. The public speculation about whether or not the job was safe was caused by that. A source said there was uncertainty within the organization.

After Seattle's win over the Cards, a question was posed to the coach about his conversations with Allen.

"Like we've always had," he said. I pointed at figuring things out. She wants to make sure that we're doing everything we can to get everything right. She doesn't want any extra effort in that area. I look at it the same way. To have your owner talk that way is a competitive perspective, but I feel so connected to that thought that we do.

We're in a constant pursuit of finding a competitive edge in everything we do. That's what she represents. We will try to exchange information and set the course for making sure that we give ourselves the best chance to win.

When asked how she views the team's season, Carroll shut down the line of questioning.

He said he didn't know. That's it." I'm not talking about it anymore. She can speak for herself. She's been with us the whole time. She's been great. I'm not going to give you any inside scoop. Don't ask.

Since she assumed her role, Allen has not given any media interviews.

Wilson missed three games due to a finger injury and it seemed to affect his accuracy when he returned. Even though his no-trade clause could ensure that he does, Wilson has stopped short of declaring that he will remain with the Seahawks. Wilson will be under contract for two more seasons.
