According to a new report by the Wall Street Journal, Musk asked the law firm to fire one of its attorneys if it didn't want to lose its business.
The former SEC lawyer who moved to Cooley after interviewing Musk during the investigation into his claim that he had enough funding to take the company private, took issue with Musk. According to the WSJ, the firm hasn't yet fired the lawyer, so it's not a surprise that documents show the company has been looking at other options. The use of Cooley for regulatory work has been stopped by the company.

Musk is well known for his feuds with regulators, but also with targets such as Elizabeth Warren, Jeff Bezos, and his own dad.
