Amazon’s ‘The Expanse’ Finale Packed 30 Easter Eggs Into One Shot

The Expanse is a movie.

Amazon.

I am sad that The Expanse ended before the end of the books, which just wrapped up with a final chapter. If the show is over for good, I think they did the best they could with the situation they had.

The Expanse did not say goodbye without sliding one very major easter egg into the finale, which fans caught and really, it is about 30 different easter eggs put into one shot.

There is a shot of all the soldiers that are on the mission with Bobbie. You can see that there is a huge collection of sci-fi tributes when you look closer.

I was going to spell them all out.

Douglas Quaid was the subject of a total recall.
A Space Odyssey was written by David Bowman.
Mass Effect is a movie about Commander Shepard.
Duncan Idaho is Dune.
Alex Rogan is a fighter.
There is a person named jason Nesmith who is on the show, called GALAXY QUEST.
Edward Buck is a person.
Shaenon K. Garrity is an author.
Ellen Ripley is an Alien.
The Aliens is written by Dwayne Hicks.
Jenette Vasquez is an alien.
William Hudson is an alien.
Joseph Cooper is in Interstellar.
John Anderton is a report.
Rick Deckard is from the movie Blade Runner.
Jack O'Neil is from Stargate.
Lone Starr is a character from Spaceballs.
Louise Banks arrives.
Kevin Flynn is a character from the movie TRON.
Roy Neary was in the third kind.
John Rico is a trooper.

H. Ochiai and R. Levine were confirmed by the crew.

I think that is all of them. I am sure they enjoyed setting this up because they found a lot of fun things there.

There are more books to be covered in The Expanse, but the series seems to be done for now. I hope they can return to those, or to the world more generally someday, but I think it had a good run on and off Amazon, and it is one of the best science fiction shows of the modern era.
