Russell Wilson would like to explore his options outside of Seattle this year, despite not demanding a trade.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Wilson was curious about the possibility of competing for a championship if he left the Seahawks. Wilson's first losing season was in Seattle in 2021.

The tension between Wilson and Pete Carroll has been building for a long time. Wilson's desire for a more wide-open offense clashing with the conservative style of the coach was highlighted in a deep dive into their relationship by The Athletic. Wilson went public with his displeasure with the offense and stated a desire to shore up their offensive line.

It was clear something wasn't right with the Seahawks all season. Wilson missed three games with a finger injury and was not as effective in the new system as he had been in the past.

The ground game was a weakness for the team and they stuck to an ineffective ground game led by Alex Collins.

Despite rumors, Wilson still wants to stay in Seattle.

Wilson said they had always thought he would be here. My goal has always been to win multiple Super Bowls, and my plan is to be here and do that. You take every day and enjoy it.

The final say over roster decisions goes to the coach. If the relationship between the two has reached a point of no return, it will be up to Seattle ownership to decide if they want to stick with their coach or their quarterback.
