Despite their poor showing in Australia, Joe Root wants to remain as England's captain.
In 61 Tests, Root has led England more than any other man, but he has not won an Australian series in charge.
Since February of last year, his team has only won one of their 14 Tests.
I believe that I am the right person to lead this team. "If that decision is taken out of my hands, so be it," he said.
I want to turn things around.
"We are going through a tough stage as a group of players and the performances haven't been good enough, but I would love the chance to try to turn things around and for us to start putting in performances from an English Test team."
Four years ago, England were beaten by Australia in their first tour as captain after a 146-run defeat in the final Test.
England failed to reach 200 for the sixth time in the series, as they lost all 10 of their players to be bowled out for 124.
It's disappointing to be beaten so much. It's difficult to take again.
"It's clear that we need to make adjustments to improve."
More to come.
