Restaurant owner blasts NY senator Kirsten Gillibrand for ignoring mask mandate during visit

The restaurant owner was angry after he caught Gillibrand failing to comply with the state mask mandate.
Unless a vaccine requirement is implemented, masks have to be worn in all indoor public places in New York.

John La Posta said that Gillibrand hurried past a sign that said "masks required to enter."
La Posta told the New York Post that his staff didn't have the chance to ask her to wear a mask as she moved quickly past them toward the tables.
All staff at Innovo Kitchen must wear a mask whenever they are not seated, and customers must wear them as well, according to the website.
The system that put the mask mandate in place has a person named Guilbrand. La Posta told The Post that she thinks she's above the law.

He said the incident was recorded by a camera.
There is a problem with NY politics. La Post wrote on the post, "My Senator blowing past my manager before she can even ask her to put a mask on."
He said that Senator Gillibrand thinks that the Governor is special and above the rules.

Innovo Kitchen didn't reply to Insider's request for comment.
Gillibrand said in a statement to Fox News that "we all need to do our part to help stop the spread of Omicron and that means following state and local guidance." I will do better going forward.

There are rapidly spreading COVID-19 cases in New York City. The city recorded more than 270,000 positive cases in December, which was a surge of the Omicron variant, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

New York has reported more than 11,500 COVID-19 hospitalizations this month, which is close to a record high. The latest figures include people who were admitted to the hospital for unrelated conditions and later diagnosed with the disease.
