The X-Men's Comics Lineup Just Got Even Cooler

Since House of X, the Mutants have had a good run of comics. Jonathan Hickman is no longer with us after the recent Inferno miniseries, but his Krakoa status quo is still very much in, and a new pair of comics are going to spin out of it in some pretty cool ways.

The first book in the "Destiny of X" line is Knights of X. The sequel to the magical Excalibur series will be written and directed by Tini Howard and will feature a group of people in the magical realm of Otherworld. Betsy and her Knights will have to save the realm and the Mutants trapped there if they are to be cut off from Krakoa. Howard said the comic was a quest for a precious treasure that would see the ten Mutants fighting for a world that hates and fears them.

House of X is the next book and it has a twist: what if it happened in the 90s? Steve Foxe and Salva Espin explored the possibility of the 90s incarnation of the X-men building Krakoa as a utopia in their five-part miniseries X-men '92: House of XC II. The same hard sci-fi story that House became will not be the same one that this one is.

Foxe and Espin both expressed excitement at getting to change the story, with the former teasing some "wild deviations" from the source material. With the news of the 90s series coming back next year, it will be interesting to see what this miniseries does to capture the hearts of those nostalgic fans while also blazing its own path.

Both Knights of X and X-men will be released on April 13 and April 6.
