Brooklyn Nets star forward Kevin Durant injured his left knee in the second quarter of Saturday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The team called it a left knee injury, and it occurred with just under six minutes left in the quarter, when the team said it was a left knee injury. Sources told Adrian Wojnarowski that an MRI will be done on Sunday.

Brooklyn's leading scorer tried to stay in the game for a few moments, walking around, trying to loosen the knee up, but he walked over to the bench and checked himself out. The player went back to the locker room to be checked out.

The team announced at the half that he would be out for the rest of the game.

The injury overshadows what had been a strong return for the formerMVP, who sat out Thursday's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder to rest. In 12 minutes on Saturday, he had 12 points, three rebound and two assists.
