I wanted to share a game that has taken social media by storm because it is a long weekend. It is free, but users can only play once a day on either their laptop, iPad or phone, so it is not a big deal.
If you are on social media, you have probably seen some weird puzzle images with numbers that make no sense. Two days ago, my wife asked if I had played Wordle. Me: "I don't know anything about it except my friends sharing it." She says that since you love Scrabble, you should check it out because you can only play once a day.
I had to uninstall Spider Solitaire from my computer after a couple of days because I became too productive to play. My wife challenged me to a game to see who could solve the word first.
That is similar to someone calling me chicken in grade school. I don't think it's meant to be played like a competitive sport, but the game was on. It is just to take a break and clear your head.
Here is how you play Wordle from the creator's website.
Guess the Wordle in 6 attempts.
The guess must be a valid 5-letter word. Hit the enter button.
The color of the tiles will change after each guess to show how close you were to the word. For an example, see below.
Natalie got the Wordle within 30 seconds on the third try, which is a record, and she seriously kicked my butt. You have to be lucky with the first random word that you choose to get it. It took me about 30 minutes to get it my first time, but I got it within a few minutes on my third try. The path I took to today's puzzle is below.
I got it on my fourth try, which is the game number.
I thought a UK website was a mistake when I searched Wordle, but it is not. I don't know how the creator makes money from it because there is no advertising or popups. The app is not from the developer of the game. The thread from the owner of the app is worth reading.
Don't be discouraged, I'm three for three in puzzles but in case you can't solve it, don't be discouraged. Being bad at Wordle doesn't mean you're dumb. Here is why.
Happy playing!
