Kirby Smart told a crowd at the stadium that the Georgia will not wait another 41 years for their next national championship.

"It's moments and events like this that allow us to look back and look forward," Smart said. We're coming back, baby, and we're burning the boats. Go Dogs!

The parade to the stadium was followed by a celebration attended by Sankey and Kemp.

Georgia won the national championship game against Alabama on Monday night in Indianapolis and finished as the top ranked team in the final AP Top 25.

I think the four-team playoff worked well this year, was it not for me? Sankey asked about the expansion of the playoff.

The capacity of the stadium is 92,746, and Georgia had no more tickets left for the celebration.

After hundreds of thousands of fans attended a two-stage parade in Atlanta to celebrate the Braves' first World Series title since 1995, the state of Georgia witnessed another championship celebration.

Jordan Davis paid tribute to the state's titles by not missing the chance.

"Go Dogs and Braves!" Davis lifted his College Football Playoff hoodie to reveal a Braves jersey.

The fans lined the street for the parade to celebrate the national championship.

Smart, his wife Mary Beth and their three children took selfies as they stood in the back of a pickup truck at the start of the parade. The Georgia players and assistant coaches were taken on a short ride from the Butts-Mehre football facility to the stadium.

After Monday night's win over Alabama, Smart began looking ahead to the next season. He knew he would lose some of his best players.

On Friday, five top juniors -- running back Zamir White, wide receiver George Pickens, linebacker Nakobe Dean, safety Lewis Cine and defensive lineman Travon Walker -- announced their intentions to enter the NFL draft.

Two seniors, running back James Cook and offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer, have said they won't return for their final year of eligibility.

Georgia is waiting on decisions from other players. Bennett, who has a year of eligibility remaining, has said that he wants to play in 2022.
