The first season of Y: The Last Man was canceled by the FX network just a few weeks before the end of it. The post- apocalyptic series was based on a 2005 comic book by Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra and starred Ben Schnetzer as Yorick, the last cis male on the planet and his pet monkey. At the time, Clark said she would try to get a second season of the show on other networks or streamers. She said back in October that someone else would be lucky to have this story.
The plans haven't come to fruition. Despite her best efforts, the show won't be going forward with another season. She wrote that it was difficult to move a show and that it didn't look like it would happen. Clark said that the pitch for season two would include some twists and turns. Are you talking about astronauts, anyone?
Y was in development for a long time, from being a film to multiple creative conflicts, and the changing of rights. The long time it took to develop the show is the reason the network decided to cut the show loose.
Clark was hit pretty hard by the cancellation of the show, but she is still grateful for the brief time she was able to tell Yorick's story. She wrote that she had to adapt her favorite comic. I hope you will still watch the show. You will still tell your friends to watch it.
Y: The Last Man can be seen on FX. Maybe we will see more of Yorick and Agent 355 in the future.
