Multiple reports say that a man took people hostage at a synagogue in Fort Worth, Texas.

The police department in Colleyville, Texas, said on its website that it was conducting a raid at the location of Beth Israel. CNN reported that the FBI and Texas Department of Public Safety were at the scene.

Multiple reports say four people are being held hostage. It was not clear how many people were in the building. Residents in the immediate area were evacuated, and no injuries were reported so far.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that the synagogue had been live-streaming its service on Facebook when the alleged hostage-taker and negotiators began to sound muffled. The video has been taken down.

The live stream did not show what was happening inside the building, but the paper said an angry man could be heard talking about religion. According to the report, the man said he was going to die and mentioned his sister and Islam.

A White House official told NBC News that it is closely monitoring the situation.

Colleyville is about 16 miles northeast of Fort Worth.
