Dallas Mavericks get Kristaps Porzingis, coach Jason Kidd back from health and safety protocols

Kristaps Porzingis is expected to play for the Mavericks against the Magic on Saturday night after clearing the NBA's health and safety protocols.

Kidd also cleared the protocols.

Dallas won six of the seven games missed by Kristaps Porzingis. Sean Sweeney was the acting head coach during Kidd's absence.

A source said that Porzingis had been able to do individual workouts.

Chriss is ineligible to play for the Mavericks while he is on a 10-day hardship deal because of his clearance by Kristaps Porzingis.

Sources said the Mavericks are considering their options to sign Chriss for the rest of the season, which would require a move to create an open roster spot.

Chriss has played in 12 games for the Mavericks over the course of three 10-day deals, and has averaged 6.8 points and 3.9 rebound in 11.8 minutes per game.
