Raiders players are openly campaigning for interim head coach Rich Bisaccia to keep his job, but the front office might have other ideas

Rich Bisaccia is going to the game against the Denver Broncos.

The interim head coach of the Raiders was Rich Bisaccia.

The Raiders reached the playoffs for the first time in four years under the guidance of Bisaccia.

The players love Bisaccia and want him to keep his job.

Rich didn't think anything of it.

The Las Vegas Raiders had a special teams coach in Jon Gruden.

After reports in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times detailed emails from Gruden, he resigned in the middle of the season.

The team had a 3-2 record and was in one of the toughest divisions in football.

Interim head coaches are usually not very good. Since the organization can't change itself in the middle of a season, the interim coach is there to get you to the offseason, tip his cap, and give the keys to the next blockbuster hire.

The term of interim head coach was different immediately. After the Raiders won their first two games with their new head coach, quarterback and team captain Carr used his post-game interview to openly campaign for him.

He has the ear of the locker room. Carr said that he has the pulse, heartbeat, and is our leader. We would love for him to be our head coach in the future.

The off-field troubles were not over with the firing of Gruden.

The wide receiver was arrested and charged with "DUI resulting in death" after being involved in a fiery car wreck in Nevada. A video on social media appeared to show a man holding a gun and threatening to kill someone.

No one would forgive the Raiders for packing things in and looking towards a new season in 2022. The Raiders kept moving forward with the help of Bisaccia.

After losing five of six games in the middle of the season, Las Vegas rattled off four straight wins to end the year and secure their first postseason berth since 2016

Raiders players went to bat.

Maxx Crosby said that he has been able to get advice from his head coach from the beginning. He's the same guy every single day and he keeps things real.

"He's in your corner, and all the guys in the locker room really respond to him."

Hunter Renfrow told NBC Sports that he is a leader of men. He cares about us.

He has the right thing to say at the right time. He can connect with people no matter what. We need to get that narrative started and maybe win a game here.

The deep relationship that Bisaccia has with his players is present on the field during games, as evidenced by this touching exchange with receiver Zay Jones on the sidelines.

The type of support that the players give to their coach feels different from the support they give to their average player. These aren't empty platitudes. "We love this guy, we are the team leaders, loud and clear," they said. We want him to be our head coach, and we are trying to win to make that happen.

The Raiders' front office will probably disagree with the players' assessment.

After the Raiders surprised the world by making the playoffs, Bisaccia believed he had a chance to keep his job.

Raiders owner Mark Davis is like his father Al Davis. The mammoth contract that Jon Gruden received in the process was a hiring. It's possible that Davis would be looking to make a big play, with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh being the biggest potential name floated around in this year's NFL coaching carousel.

The Raiders have made a lot of headline-grabbing moves throughout their history, but keeping Bisaccia might be the right one for this team at the moment.

The team's leaders are trying to keep Bisaccia in his spot. When this year's campaign could have gone off the rails, Bisaccia had his team ready to play, earning them a playoff date against the Cincinnati Bengals.

It's not clear whether the people who made the decision did enough to keep his job.

The calls for his return will only get louder if he can lead the Raiders to a playoff win.
