If Joe Harris is available by the Brooklyn Nets before the NBA trade deadline in February of 2022, the Cleveland Cavaliers would be interested in him.

Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reported on the Wine and Gold Talk that the Cavs were interested in the veteran sharpshooter.

"If the Nets make Joe Harris available, then the Cavs would be very interested in him," Fedor said.

Harris had surgery on his ankle and hasn't played since.

Nets head coach Steve Nash said Wednesday that the forward's recovery has been more difficult than they thought, as he still hasn't received clearance to resume full basketball activities despite completing the initial four-to-eight week recovery timetable.

Nash told reporters that he thinks he's not in full ramp-up mode. He's not completely cleared to do everything. He's got to get back to that, and he's got to get his high-intensity stuff in. He's not there yet.

Harris had an average of 11.3 points and 4.0 rebound in 14 appearances this season. He was one of the NBA's best three-point shooters, shooting 46.6 percent from beyond the rim.

The void on the wing has been filled by the rookies. Bruce Brown, Kessler Edwards, and David Duke Jr. have seen more playing time at the 3.

The Nets' depth could make Harris expendable before the trade deadline, though interested teams may want the 30-year-old University of Virginia product to fully recover from the injury before making a deal.

Brooklyn would likely seek a proven, high-end wing defender if it were to move Harris, so Cleveland doesn't seem like an ideal trade partner.

If the Three-Point Contest champion lands on the block over the next few weeks, it sounds like the Cavs will check in.
