Trump ally Darren Beattie forced out of federal post by White House after Insider report

The commission that oversees US Holocaust memorials abroad was forced to lose a right-wing activist after the Biden administration forced his resignation.
The Washington Post reported that the deputy director of the White House Office of presidential personnel had written a letter to the US Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad's executive director, telling him to either resign or be fired by Friday.
The letter requesting his resignation was a picture of which Beattie wrote in a twit.
January 14, 2022.

The White House has been contacted by an Insider.
The move came after Insider found out that Beattie was still on the panel more than a year after his appointment by Donald Trump caused controversy.
The Anti-Defamation League said in a statement to Insider that Beattie should not be on a commission that protects Jewish heritage sites before the Holocaust. He attended a conference with white nationalists and promoted false information about the Jan 6 riot.
The Trump administration fired him as a speechwriter for his attendance at the 2016 Mencken Club conference with white nationalist Peter Brimelow, before he was appointed to the commission.

Tucker Carlson's show frequently discussed the baseless conspiracy theory that the Jan 6 riot was instigated by FBI agents, as well as the role played by Beattie. In a recent statement, Trump praised him for promoting the claim, writing, "Thank you to the people who have exposed the false narrative about January 6th."

The House committee investigating the Jan 6 riot has rejected the conspiracy theory and is refuting the claim that protester Ray Epps was working with the FBI.
The commission's term was set to end in February, but members can serve beyond that if they wish. According to The Post, six other members of the panel were asked to resign.
