The interim boss has backed the Portugal star to keep talking about his unhappiness at Manchester United after he raised a number of concerns during an interview this week.
In an interview with Sky Sports on Thursday, he said he had not returned to United to be in sixth place, seventh place or fifth place.

The 36-year-old questioned the mentality of the squad and suggested that some of the younger players are reluctant to take advice from senior pros.

"If it is necessary to speak in a very direct manner to the boys, it helps a lot, even in the locker room," he said.
