Netflix raised its prices again

The prices of its subscription services in the US and Canada have been raised again. Existing customers will receive an email notice 30 days before the increase takes effect, while new subscribers will see the new prices today.

The price hikes were first reported by the news agency, which said that they were updating their prices so that they could continue to offer a wide variety of quality entertainment options.

The new prices are as follows.

Basic is $8.49 for a 480p stream.
The standard streams are $13.98 $15.49
Premium streams are $17.98.

Basic is unchanged at $9.99 in Canada, while the new prices are $16.49 for Standard and $20.99 for Premium.

The standard went from $11 to $13 before the last increase in 2020. They waited until January so no one could say they raised the price three years in a row.

While Hollywood is still trying to sort out its strategy, the increase in demand for TV and movies has been historic, and so has the increase in the price of its service.

The value proposition is hard to deny with the platform's seemingly endless selection of increasingly international productions. The creator of the hit show "Squid Game" shopped it unsuccessfully for years, but it probably wouldn't have been made if it wasn't for the deep pockets of the streaming service.

You will have a chance to change or cancel, but who among us has the strength to do so? Use the increase to justify watching 10% more shows.
