All of its plans in the US are raising prices today. The company's standard plan will increase to 15.50 per month from 14 and the 4K plan will increase to 20 per month from 18. The basic plan is increasing to $10 per month from $9. In Canada, prices are rising as well.

The price hikes go into effect immediately. The changes will be rolled out gradually for existing subscribers, with a promise to email members 30 days before the price hike goes into effect.

Prices for a plan have gone up over time. The standard plan went to $13 per month in late 2020 from $11 in 2019. In the last two years,Netflix raised prices. When the first wide-scale price increase was announced in 2014, the company was so worried about losing subscribers that it allowed existing members to keep their price for two years. In the years since, it has not offered such a generous perk.

The price hikes come during a challenging time for the company. The company already has a lot of subscribers in the US, and adding more is a challenge, making price hikes an obvious answer for how it can make more money. At the same time, it is competing with several other serious streaming services for attention, including Disney Plus and HBO Max, and it has been spending big on content to keep up.

The company is updating its prices so that they can continue to offer a wide variety of quality entertainment options. We offer a range of plans so members can choose a price that works for them.

There are other services that have been raising prices recently. In October, the price of the ad-supported and ad-free tiers was increased by $1 per month.
