J.J. Watt is expected to play in the Wild Card Round playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Friday that Watt's practice session on Thursday went well and that he's dealing with no issues at all after his quick return from arm and shoulder injuries.

Watt had a good season for the Cards in 2021, but he had to have surgery for a number of arm injuries in late October.

Sources say that Watt will have surgery next week to repair his shoulder, which was damaged on Sunday. Watt tried to tackle Mills along the sideline, but played several more plays.

How serious is an injury to the Arizona Cardinal's DE? Sources say he tore his labrum, bicep, and rotator cuff. Watt helped change the culture of the AZ team by playing some of his best football.

It was the fourth time in the past six years that a major injury cost Watt half the season. He played just three games in 2016 and five in 2017: and eight in 2019.
Watt is one of the best defensive linemen in the league. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year, five-time Pro Bowler and five-time first-team All-Pro selection has two seasons with 20 or more sacks and five seasons with 10 or more sacks.
Watt had an impact on interior linemen in his prime, but not outside of Donald.
Watt missed a large part of the regular season but still tried to make a return for the playoffs.

He's one step closer to making that reality, which would provide a major boost to the Arizona defense.
