Boba Fett, Kindhearted Crime Lord, Is Confusing Many ‘Star Wars’ Fans

Lucasfilm is a company

The Book of Boba Fett has given the famed bounty hunter roughly 200 times the screen time he ever got in the actual Star Wars movies, and fans are finding their perception of what they thought he would be like altered significantly by the content of the Disney Plus show.

For a long time, Boba Fett was seen as the ultimate badass, a mostly silent dude in cool armor who went on many wild adventures. He may still be a bad guy, but Disney has gone a different direction.

Is Boba Fett really nice?

Fett wants to do it with respect, not fear, even though the plot of The Book of Boba Fett has Fett trying to coalesce power as a crime lord. Fett shows a lot of restraint and mercy in a number of situations.

Disney.

Is this good? Is it bad? It sparked a lot of debate among Star Wars fans.

In the last three episodes, Boba Fett has not been spared.

The life of an aide.
Two guards offered to honor him.
The life of an assassin who tries to kill someone.
The lives of captured members of a merchant collective who have murdered raiders with their hover train many times.
The lives of a gang of street kids who are recruited to work for him. The life of a merchant who tried to trick him into killing them.
A Wookie gladiator is trying to kill him.

He gives scritches to a baby he owns.

I think this works well sometimes. I could see a different path where Boba Fett escaped from jail and went on a rampage, murdering all the people he met. Fett being adopted and trained as a member of the tribe gave a lot more depth to the character.

The amount of offenses and assassination attempts Fett has overlooked is starting to get a little bit absurd. Fett is acting out of character based on the perception of the character we have had for all these years, and I agree with the general sentiment that he is acting out of character. The show is about the criminal underworld of Tatooine, but the vibe of the series is not in line with the setting. The second episode was good, but Fett's behavior in a lot of situations feels very odd.

It is too early to tell what Fett will do in the future. It's weird to have him and Fennec playing Good Cop/Murder Cop when suddenly all people are like Boba Fett, a beacon of wisdom and restraint. I agree that a lot of this feels weird.
