Unranked Oregon upsets UCLA in OT.

The Oregon Ducks beat the UCLA Bruins in overtime. The song is called "2:27."

The time is 12:41 AM.

Oregon had lost some close games before being shut down by Covid-19. The Ducks are starting to turn a corner.

The win gave Dana Altman his 700th career victory and gave Jacob Young a season-high 23 points.

Will Richardson was one of three people in foul trouble. Oregon has won four in a row. The loud celebration in the locker room echoed throughout the mostly empty Pauley Pavilion as the Duck's swarmed the court.

"We haven't fought adversity well throughout the year, but we sure showed a little growth tonight," said Altman, who is 700-358 in his 33rd season as a Division I coach. They fought back and were proud of it.

Jules Bernard and Johnny Juzang both had 13 points for the Bruins. Their five-game winning streak ended with their second loss of the season.

"You're either hungry or you're arrogant because we've won nothing, and you're either hungry or you're arrogant because they were trying to pull off the so-called upset," said Bruins coach Mick Cronin.

The teams traded baskets in overtime. Young scored to put Oregon ahead. Jaquez missed two free throws that would have tied it. Young scored again to give the Ducks the lead.

Richardson made one of two free throws to give UCLA the lead. Juzang's potential tying 3-pointer missed. Bernard put up a jumper after getting the rebound and De'Vion got his hand on it.

"We've got talented guys, but we've got to come up with stops down the stretch and we just didn't do that," Juzang said. You can't have that many mistakes.

The Bruins forced overtime on Jaylen Clark's steal and baseline layup that tied it 73-all with 16 seconds left. Richardson and Bernard missed 3s in the closing seconds.

Both teams had a player ejected in the extra session. Eric Williams Jr. had 10 points and eight boards. Riley picked up two fouls in the game's first 30 seconds and the Bruins lost him.

In the first half, the Ducks only made one 3-pointer, but they hit four in the second half. It was part of a 16-2 run that gave them a lead.

The Bruins took a 51-50 lead on a 14-4 spurt with 3-pointers by Tyger Campbell and Peyton Watson.

After blowing a nine-point lead early in the half, the Ducks maintained a six-point cushion most of the way until the Bruins hit four straight free throws and Clark scored to force overtime.

The Bruins played a fake crowd noise for the second game in a row, with only the relatives of the coaches and players allowed in the arena.

"It didn't help, but I don't believe in excuses," he said.

The first half ended with the Ducks trailing 35-30 and they only made two baskets. The Bruins led by nine at the half and had runs of 12-0 and .

There is a big picture.

The victory was a huge boost for the Ducks, who had a game postponed last week. They came into LA riding the wave of a two-point win over Oregon State. Richardson said that the whole team is coming along.

The Bruins missed too many shots. Campbell was 3 of 10, Jaquez was 2 of 6 and Bernard was 3 of 13. Riley missed four of five free throws.

BeATING THE BRUINS.

UCLA has been defeated by Altman 13-9 in the past. The all-time series is 39-90. It was the first time that Altman visited Pauley Pavilion since the new UCLA coach took over.
