The United Airlines business class between the US and Tokyo is open for award travel. Saver awards for 2 or more passengers can be found in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Denver. This deal was spotted by a premium airfare deal alert service.

Japan's borders are currently closed. At that point, Omicron will probably be on the decline, and they will look to re-open. I will be returning for amazing sushi.

The flights between Los Angeles and Tokyo are open from March 4 to December 13.

The flights between San Francisco and Tokyo are open from March 4 to December 13.

The flights between Denver and Tokyo are open from April 17 to December 13.

Business class travel has access to the Polaris lounges. The lounges at Newark, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago O'Hare and Washington Dulles have re-opened. Los Angeles should re-open before the start of the awards.

The United Polaris Lounge is in Newark.

The Los Angeles flight is the only one that will feature United's Polaris business class seat, while the other two flights show their older seat.

There are some ways to book.

Chase is a transfer partner of United MileagePlus, which charges 70,000 miles for these flights without fuel surcharges.
The ANA Mileage Club charges just 85,000 miles for this flight. They are an American Express Membership rewards transfer partner, however it can take around 48 hours to transfer, and there is no guarantee that the space will still be available when those points hit your account.
Air Canada Aeroplan charges 75,000 miles each way without fuel surcharges and is a Chase, Capital One, American Express and Bilt transfer partner.
There are pricing quirks and Avianca Lifemiles charges 75,000 miles each way without fuel surcharges.

I wouldn't bet on cherry blossom season this year, but the summer can be great and hopefully the course of the epidemic will shift, and we'll be dealing with things more seasonal after the next couple of months.
