The billionaire joined the Chair of Global Health at University of Edinburgh and the Global Health Governance Program Director for a 45 minute conversation about the role of science in the epidemic and what Gates thinks will happen in the future.

His commentary on what he thinks are two missing factors when it comes to the current vaccine was most notable.

Bill Gates delivered the "Classiest Burn" to billionaires trying to go to space.

He wrote that the vaccines prevent disease and death but are missing two important things. The duration appears to be limited, as they still allow infections to break through. We need vaccines that last a long time.

Gates said that when vaccines were first rolled out, they were limited and went to wealthy countries, but that now the issue islogistics and demand, because of the healthcare systems in underdeveloped and impoverished countries.

Gates was asked about the spread of conspiracy theories and how he suggests we combat it.

He admitted that social media got behind on trying to get factual information out. People like you and Tony Fauci have been subject to a lot of misinformation. I didn't think that would happen. I don't understand why I would want to do that.

Bill Gates made a mistake in his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Sridhar replied with a laughing emoji, that he would make a joke but would cause a storm.

Gates talked about where he believed Covid came from and how we can prevent another situation like this in the future.

The Omicron wave health systems will be challenged as countries experience them. He said that most of the cases will be unvaccinated. The rest of the year should see fewer Covid cases because Omicron will go through a country.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation pledged $50 million to vaccine access and delivery in 92 lower-income countries across the world last June. The total donations and pledges made by the foundation to the Covid response initiatives was over one billion dollars.

Gates had a net worth of $134 billion as of Thursday afternoon.

It's been a year of great personal sadness for Bill Gates.
