Remember when Novak Djokovic called out Naomi Osaka for not following the rules?

Grace wrote yesterday that we would stop writing about Novak if he stopped making us.

His name was in the Aussie Open draw last night. The Djoker is the top seed as he is the No. 1 player in the world. The Immigration office is still studying whether or not to boot him, as it is still unclear whether he will remain there.

Naomi Osaka said she didn't want to do press conferences last year at the French Open, and that's how it is illustrative of what Novak said when he said she didn't want to do press conferences.

He understands that press conferences can be unpleasant.

The media is important, but it is part of what we do. It is allowing us to communicate with fans in a more traditional way. It used to be the only way to reach out to our fans.

Here we are, watching a man who is trying to escape consequences for his defiance of the rules. It was pretty qualified, even though he tried to walk this back later.

I support her. She was brave to do that. I am really sorry that she is going through pain and suffering. I haven't spoken to her, but she seems to have been struggling. I hope she recovers. She is an important player for our sport. We need to have her with us.

This was a very bold decision from her side.

I respect it if she needs to take time and reflect and just get back to normal. I hope she will come back stronger.
