Italian Super Cup: Inter Milan beat Juventus 2-1 thanks to Alexis Sanchez extra-time winner

Inter Milan won their sixth Super Cup.

Inter Milan's first Italian Super Cup since 2010 was won by substituteAlexisnchez who scored a 121st-minute winner.

The forward scored the game winner with the final kick of the game.

Weston McKennie had opened the scoring for the visitors, but Lautaro was able to equalize with a first-half penalty.

In normal time, Inter's Denzel had a chance to win it, but his goal was tipped to the side by the bar.

The former Manchester United forward pounced on the ball after Matteo Darmian prodded the ball into his path after Alex Sandro failed to control and clear the cross into the box.

Simone Inzaghi won his first piece of silverware as Inter boss after taking over from Antonio Conte.

Lazio won the Super Cup for the third time, having previously triumphed against Juventus in the showpiece event.

After beating Atalanta in last season's Coppa Italia final, the Bianconeri resisted early pressure and were ahead in the 25th minute when McKennie nodded in a cross from Morata.

Inter hit back from the spot soon after, with Roberto Martinez scoring his 12th goal of the season following a foul on Edin Dzeko.

A fine save by Perin at the other end prevented a Dumfries goal, while Bernardeschi missed two early second-half chances.

In the first half of extra time, Perin dealt with a headed goal by Martinez, but he couldn't prevent a goal for the Nerazzurri, who went on to win the Super Cup for the sixth time.
