It's kind of like the American Horror Story and Beetlejuice of the 90's.
Is it weird that the house is called "she" by the real estate agent? Here is a full description of the show that gives you a bit more context about what to expect from the characters and the situation they find themselves in.
Shining Vale is a comedy about a family that moves from the city to a small town and then into a house that has been the site of terrible atrocities. Pat thinks she is either depressed or possessed, but no one seems to notice. A former wild child who wrote a raunchy, drug-and-alcohol-soaked women's empowerment novel, Pat Phelps is now a famous author.
17 years later, Pat is clean and sober but unfulfilled. She doesn't have a second novel, she can't remember the last time she had sex with her husband, and her teenage kids want you dead. She was a faithful wife until her one mistake: she had an affair with a young handyman who came to fix the sink while Terry was at work. In a last-ditch effort to save their marriage, she and Terry cash in all their savings and move the family to a large, old house in the suburbs that has a storied past of its own. Everyone has their demons, but for Pat, they may be real.
Mira Sorvino plays Rosemary, who is either Pat's alter ego, a split personality, her id, her muse, or a demon trying to possess her, in the film.
This might be the show that gets us back on the show. It will premiere on March 6.
