Jan. 6 Committee Seeks Information From Kevin McCarthy

The House committee investigating the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol is seeking the cooperation of Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

McCarthy has not been issued a subpoena which would have required him to comply with the committee's demands, but he is being asked to submit information.

The committee claims that McCarthy had direct communications with Trump after January 6, 2021, and that he discussed the possibility of being impeached or removed from office.

The committee said that McCarthy warned the former White House chief of staff that objecting to the election results was doomed to fail.

Thompson wrote in the letter that they must learn about the President's plans for January 6th and how he tried to change the results of the election.
