Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski to miss game vs. Wake Forest with non-COVID illness

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski won't be at the Wake Forest game due to a non-COVID related virus.

The acting head coach for Wednesday's game will be Jon Scheyer.

The Duke and Notre Dame games were postponed due to issues within the program. The Blue Devil lost to Miami at home last weekend after beating Georgia Tech.

After the team returned from its pause, Krzyzewski said that they were in isolation. You're not allowed to do anything when you have it, because you're in isolation. These guys aren't getting ahead. It went through our entire team. It will take some time to ramp up because we are not in the shape that we were before.

In January 2021, Krzyzewski missed one game due to COVID-19 protocols after a family member tested positive for the virus. He said at the time that he had tested negative.

Duke plays NC State on Saturday after Wednesday's trip to Wake Forest.
