NBC News reported that an ex-girlfriend of Gaetz went to a courthouse in Florida to testify for the federal grand jury investigating the congressman.
On the first anniversary of the Capitol riot, Rep. Matt Gaetz made a statement.

NBC says Gaetz's ex-girlfriend testified in front of a grand jury in front of Tim Jansen, her attorney, on Wednesday.
According to legal sources, the Gaetz investigation involves sex traffickers of a minor, obstruction of justice and violations of an anti-prostitution law.
The Department of Justice has not charged Gaetz with a crime or accused him of one, and news on the federal probe has slowed since last spring.
The DOJ declined to comment to Forbes, and Jansen confirmed that he is in Florida with a client, but did not offer any further details.
The New York Times reported in March that investigators were looking into whether Gaetz paid to transport a 17-year-old with whom he had a sexual relationship, a violation of child sex trafficking laws. The government is looking into whether Gaetz and his friend paid women for sex, and whether a medical marijuana businessman tried to influence Gaetz during the trip to the Bahamas. The probe into the lawmaker dominated news headlines last spring, but attention has faded since.
There was aContra.
Gaetz has consistently denied having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old or paying women for sex, and a spokesman denied that a businessman tried to influence Gaetz's stance on medical marijuana legalization. He claimed that the investigation was related to an extortion scheme against him and his father. The DOJ charged a Florida businessman with trying to extort $25 million from Gaetz's family in exchange for help securing a presidential pardon that could end the sex trafficking investigation, and he pleaded guilty to wire fraud in November.
There was some movement in the Gaetz probe last fall despite the lack of charges. The DOJ asked a judge to delay Greenberg's sentencing in October, citing the cooperation he's offered to federal prosecutors in other ongoing investigations. Two D.C.-based prosecutors were assigned to the Gaetz probe by the DOJ, the Times reported.
