Manchester Airports Group announces 1,000 job opportunities

Following the easing of travel testing restrictions last week, the Manchester Airports Group has announced more than 1,000 jobs are available at its airports.

Security officers, customer service officers and car park staff are some of the jobs being advertised.

There are more than 500 security roles available at Manchester, and up to 95 at East Midlands.

Virgin Atlantic will be recruiting 400 new cabin crew members.

The three airports in the UK's largest group of airports reported a "strong" recovery in October and November last year, which slowed when restrictions tightened in response to the Omicron variant.

The removal of the extra testing measures has given the sector a boost, and has increased flight bookings from the airports.

The aviation industry is on its way to recovery, and it is great that our passengers have more freedom to fly.

The sector would bounce back quickly with the easing of travel restrictions. Hundreds of fantastic, interesting roles are available to suit a wide range of people with different experience, skills and background.

The three airports flew more than 60 million passengers to more than 300 destinations.
