'What a moron': Fauci argues with GOP senator over financial disclosures

Fauci said that his investments and financial information had been public knowledge for more than 30 years.

Fauci said that all you have to do is ask. You are so incorrect, it is extraordinary.

Marshall argued that Fauci has an inside knowledge because he sees information before members of Congress.

The senator said that there is an air of appearance that may be related to some shenanigans.

Fauci said the information on his financial disclosure is accessible to the public and to Marshall.

A National Institutes of Health spokeswoman said on Tuesday afternoon that she would look into questions regarding whether Fauci's financial disclosure information was available to the public via a Freedom of Information Act request, or some other means, and would respond as soon as possible.

Marshall said that they look forward to reviewing the exchange.

Fauci could be heard quietly saying, "What a moron," as Tuesday's hearing moved on. "Jesus Christ."

Marshall said that calling him a moron during a Senate hearing may have alleviated the stress of the least trusted bureaucrat in America, but it didn't take away from the facts.

Ian Sams, a spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services, denounced Marshall's comments about Fauci.

He said that it was disappointing that Republican Senators chose to spend a hearing with the country's leading public health experts spreading conspiracy theories and lies about Dr. Fauci.

Sams said in the statement that the Biden administration would continue to focus on getting more people vaccinations and encouraged Republicans to join the effort.

Fauci has sparred with Republican lawmakers at Capitol Hill. Fauci argued that the crazies who threaten him and his family are because of the senator's critical rhetoric. Fauci accused Paul of using the Pandemic for political gain.
