Lego delays Overwatch 2 set as company reevaluates relationship with Activision Blizzard

The name has become synonymous with delay. The Lego company was reported by The Brick Fan to be postponing the release of a set with a theme based on the hit movie, "Overwatch 2."

Alice Carter is Lego's senior manager of corporate brand communication.

We are currently reviewing our partnership with the company because of concerns about the progress being made to address allegations of workplace culture, especially the treatment of female colleagues and creating a diverse and inclusive environment. We will stop the release of the LEGO Overwatch 2 product while we complete the review, which was due to go on sale on February 1, 2022.

There are allegations of discrimination, abuse, and sexual harassment made against employees of the company. Lego seems to be the first gaming-related company to take direct action after companies like Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo expressed concerns about the company. The allegations first came to light last year, and advertisers pulled their sponsorship from the league.

Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, said in an interview on The New York Times that they have changed the way they do things with the company.
