The Bears are looking for an interview with a Super Bowl champion as part of their search for a head coach.
The Chicago Bears will interview Doug Pederson, who was the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2016 to 2020 and helped them win a Superbowl.

Pederson is a candidate for the Jacksonville Jaguars coaching position.

The Bears fired general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy on Monday.

Pederson was fired by Philadelphia after the 2020 campaign, but his tenure with the team was a success. He made the playoffs in three of his five seasons, including the Super Bowl effort.

Prior to joining the Eagles, he was the offensive coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The team has been searching for a franchise quarterback for years, so that could be of note. After the Bears selected him with a first-round pick in the 2021, he was inconsistent and had injuries during his first season.

Maximizing Fields' ability to make plays with his legs and arm will be critical for whoever the next Bears head coach is, and Pederson was at the helm in Philadelphia when Carson Wentz played his best football of his career as anMVP candidate before tearing hisACL.

The offense didn't experience a drop-off with Nick Foles in charge.

The presence of Fields could be a selling point for a new coach. If he lives up to his potential, the organization could have a young franchise quarterback in place, which would allow it to improve other areas of the roster.

Pederson was an NFL quarterback from 1993 to 2004 and was a coach for the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Eagles and Cleveland Browns.
