The College Football Hall of Fame announced Monday that Andrew Luck, a former quarterback at Stanford, and former Toledo and Missouri coach Gary Pinkel will be part of the class of 2022.

Penn State's LaVar Arrington, Georgia's Champ Bailey, Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree, Alabama's Sylvester Croom and Oklahoma's Roy Williams were also selected.

The National Football Foundation Veterans Committee candidates were among the 78 players and seven coaches who were selected from a national ballot to be part of the class of 2022.

The class includes 11 players who were conference players of the year, including Arrington, Ohio State's Mike Doss, Toledo's Chuck Ealey, Illinois's Moe Gardner, Illinois State's Boomer Griggsby, Michigan's Mark Messner, Oklahoma State

John Luckhardt was the first player or coach from Washington & Jefferson to be selected for the Hall of Fame, and Grigsby was the first Redbird player to be selected to the Hall of Fame.

Three coaches have the most wins in their school's history: Luckhardt, Pinkel and Billy Jack Murphy.

In his career, Luck led the Cardinal to a 31-7 record, including three straight postseason berths and a top 10 final ranking in 2010 and 2011. He was named the Orange Bowl's Most Valuable Player.

The only other player in NCAA history to run for 2,000 yards in a season was Salaam. The Walter Camp and Doak Walker awards were won by Salaam, who was also a unanimous first-team All-American. He led the nation in rushing yards, scoring and all-purpose yards, but didn't play in the fourth quarter in five games. In 1994 the Buffaloes went 11-1 and were ranked third in the final rankings after a win over Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl.

The College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2022, will be inducted at the NFF Annual Awards Dinner.
