The Djokovics are making steamed hams

Being the best at something is going to cause a lot of idiocy in our society. It takes a singular focus to be the best ever to play any sport, and if you are the author of that idiocy, maybe we have to admit that. It is getting almost cartoonish.

If Djoker wasn't a world-class moron about getting vaccine, or playing tennis, the saga in Australia wouldn't have gotten dumber. He has no one watching him on the court.

You might forget about this when you took the weekend off. How we are jealous of you. Maybe you left off when the Australian courts decided whether or not to grant a visa for Novak to play in the Australian Open after the Slam granted him an exemption to play without being vaccine free.

The idiocy of that hotel was that it showed how rich people view people who aren't rich. It was an excellent time to show how the government treats poor immigrants and the lack of dignity they are afforded, as the family of the man who died couldn't stop bitching about the conditions. It was treated as an insult to the man that he had to live like a lowly ranked player for a couple days. What never stops? There are indignities.

The illustration of why he was being put through this process became clear when he revealed that he had tested positive for carbon dioxide three weeks ago. Australia has a caveat for those who have recently had the virus to not have the vaccine, which is the reason why the Circuit Court Judge Anthony Kelly reinstated the visa of the man who had it.

It is not that simple. His family said that he tested positive on December 16th. He is in public and without a mask at an event for his foundation on the 17th.

He is on the 16h.

The greatest press conference in tennis history was held by his father and brother.

Mel is upset that he wasn't able to make something funny.

It's not a surprise, as Djokovic has been a brainiac when it comes to COVID-19. He was the genius who had a full tournament in Serbia in the first months of the epidemic, parading around with other players in front of full crowds who were neither masked nor distanced. He tested positive after it. You would think that would be enough for him to get over it, but you don't know how much of a race he's in with Rodgers. Maybe he thought he could just wish it away.

Police pepper sprayed his fans outside of his lawyer's office in Australia. That is fun.

It is not over. The minister of Immigration of Australia could still step in and boot the Serbian star into the ether, though we might not know about it for a couple days. He could extend the ban for three years and send his family into space. You should be rooting for this.

It is clear that the selfish can always buy their way out of the messes of their own creation, while spitting on those who can't afford the same avenues, and how they all hold us back, even when their stupidity couldn't be any clearer. The only thing that had to be done was take two shots. We have all of this.

Enjoy the show.
