The streamer shared a first-look trailer for Bel-Air on Monday, and it will debut on February 13th. Bel-air is re-envisioning the classic ‘90s sitcom as an hour-long drama series. The main characters from the original return, including Uncle Phil and Carlton, may not be the same as you remember them. Carlton comes off as bashful in the trailer. Jazz looks like his inspiration.
Morgan Cooper released a fan film in 2019. The Fresh Prince premise is used by both Cooper's creation and the Peacock series to tell a story about second chances, race and class. Cooper was the director, co-writer and executive producer of the series. The idea for Bel-Air came to him while he was driving. He was thinking about the original show when he drove. He said at the time that he had a story to tell.
The first three episodes of Bel-Air will be released on Super Bowl Sunday. The series will run for two seasons.
