Barnsley v Stoke City: Championship game called off because of Covid cases in Tykes camp



The Oakwell ground has not hosted a Championship game since December 17th.

The game at home to Stoke was called off for the second time because of coronaviruses.

A Covid-19 outbreak and injuries have left Barnsley without a sufficient number of players available for Wednesday's fixture.

The game was postponed due to a similar situation within the squad.

The club worked hard to make sure it was able to fulfill the fixture.

The club does not have enough players available to fulfill the fixture due to the number of injuries and positive Covid-19 cases within the squad.

There is a new date for the match that is not yet decided.

After a run of just one win in 22 games, the Tykes are eight points from safety, while the Potters are five points off the play-off places.
