UK’s largest ichthyosaur fossil was a 10-metre-long apex predator

The giant marine reptile once swam the seas. The skeleton of a 10 metres long, 180 million-year-old ichthyosaur has been found in the UK.

The largest and most complete skeleton found in the UK is the Ichthyosaur. It was found in a nature reserve.

Joe Davis says he found the fossil as he was working on landscaping. He says that he has been very lucky to come across something like this, that many people have spent their lives looking for.

It is thought to be the first of its kind in the UK. Fossils are usually found in North America and Germany.

The Ichthyosaur was a predator. The eyes of this species were said to be 20 centimetres in diameter, making them the largest eyes of any known animal.

The University of Manchester led the excavation of the fossil and says it is one of the greatest finds in British history.
