The San Francisco 49ers secured a playoff spot with a 27-24 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
San Francisco is back in the playoffs for the first time since 2019. The Niners have a winning record for the second time in five seasons under Kyle Shanahan.

The 49ers are in third place in the West.
The 49ers have struggled with injuries this season and have been in a rough spot. San Francisco lost a number of players to injuries, including top running back Mostert, defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw, and defensive back Emanuel Moseley.
Running backs Sermon and Mitchell, defensive end Dee Ford, safety Tarvarius Moore, and wide receiver Sanu have missed time this season.
The Niners had several talented players to carry them despite the injuries. Samuel leads the team with 77 catches for 1,405 yards and six touchdown in 16 games. He has 59 carries for 361 yards and seven scores.
Kittle had an impressive season, catching 71 passes for 905 yards and six touchdown in 14 games.
Jimmy Garoppolo came close to matching the numbers he put up in the Super Bowl season, despite questions about his future with the franchise. The 30-year-old has completed 68.2% of his passes for 3,810 yards and 20 touchdown in 15 games.
He completed 69.1 percent of his passes for 3,978 yards and 27 touchdown against 13 turnovers in 16 games.
It's hard to imagine the Niners competing with teams like the Packers, Cowboys, Rams, and Cards in the playoffs.
