Wagz Tagz are like AirTags for keeping your dog off the couch

It's easier to keep your dog out of the garbage.

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in 2022, the pet company Wagz introduced a small device that works with the smart collar to keep your dog away from off-limit zones. The tag is a little smaller than a credit card and can be found under a mattress, in between couch cushions, or attached to your garbage can.

Several pet-focused companies are at this year's Consumer Electronics Show that have found an enthusiastic market recently. Pet tech sales generated over $5 billion worldwide in the year 2020, and nearly half of Americans reported getting a dog during the Pandemic. The human and dog bond is closer than ever as owners spend more time at home.

Put the tag in a spot where your dog can sneak into or onto it. The zone can be anywhere from three to 15 feet with the help of the Wagz app. Pair it with the collar.

If your dog enters an off-limits zone, the collar will give them a shock-free correction, which is a combination of vibrating, audible, and Ultrasonic sounds. The correction will distract the dog from the behavior. When this happens, you'll get a notification from the app.

If you use this product, it's probably a good idea to watch your dog for signs of stress, as a UC Davis study connected sudden household sounds to anxiety in dogs.

It is not a replacement for training. Training is required for the dog to understand what to do when it experiences this. It's a convenient way to address a problem that beleaguers many dog owners.

In March of 2022, there will be a price of $39.99 and $99.99 for a pack of three.
