David Culley, the coach of the Houston Texans, said he expects to return next season despite rumors about his job status.

Culley said after the Texans' loss that he had no doubts about what was going to happen. I'm excited to be the head coach of this football team. I haven't thought about it in a while.

Culley said he was looking forward to his exit interviews with the players Monday, and that he had not been told he would be the coach next season.

"I think he did a great job all season," Mills said. He was a great leader. He had full faith in the team and led us well all season despite the losses. I hope he's back because I loved him as a coach.

Culley said he didn't feel like we won enough ballgames.

Culley said that they needed to win more ballgames. I thought we could have won some of the ballgames we had. I'm just looking forward to this time off and moving forward.

The Texans went 4-13 in Culley's first season, but they did the same number of games as they did the previous season. Culley had to do it without the quarterback who requested a trade. The first of 23 lawsuits was filed against him less than two months later.

He was on the active roster all season despite facing 22 civil lawsuits. Each game the quarterback was a scratch.

The Texans started the season with a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but lost their next eight games and 11 of 12.
