Rep. Maxine Waters says Matt Gaetz 'needs to shut up' after he said he was 'proud of the work we did on January 6'

Waters made a statement about Gaetz after he made a statement about the Capitol insurrection.
We're ashamed of nothing. Gaetz said that the GOP was proud of the work they did on January 6 to make legitimate arguments about election integrity.

"We're going to walk the grounds that patriotic Americans walked from the White House to the Capitol who had no intent of breaking the law or doing violence," said Gaetz, a Republican from Florida.

Waters said Gaetz's comments were outrageous.

Waters said that Gaetz "better be concerned" about what's happening in his sex-trafficking investigation because he said that the world watched what happened.

Waters said that they had no intent of hurting anyone when they talked about the Capitol police officers who had died. They can't get away with it.
The New York Times reported that a Senate report found that five Capitol police officers died in the days and weeks after the insurrection. Around 140 police officers were injured in the events, as reported by The Times.
More than 700 people have been charged with crimes in connection to the Capitol insurrection.
It is not possible to work with some Republicans according to Waters.
I want my party to rise to this occasion and not think that we can work something out with them. They have defined themselves as liars, people with no integrity, and they are afraid of Trump, Waters said.
She said that Gaetz needs to shut up because he is not representing his own people.
