Klay Thompson will be available to play for the Golden State Warriors in their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.
The Golden State star made it official with his own announcement on the social media site.
Thompson will play in his first game in more than two years after being cleared to do so.
Steve Kerr wouldn't confirm Thompson's status after practice Saturday, saying it was not his decision to make. The media was told to watch their phones with thanks.
Thompson will start with fewer minutes.
Thompson tore his left knee in Game 6 of the NBA Finals as Toronto won the title. He tore his right Achilles on the day before training camp started.
If he comes back tomorrow night, it will be one of the most emotional nights of my basketball life.
Thompson knows it will take time to get back to his pre-injury level, as he has long curly hair, and he plans to stick with an old-school headband.
"The game needs Klay, he's one of the best shooters to ever play this game," said teammate Juan Toscano- Anderson. The magnitude of this moment is large.
Fans are paying a premium for tickets to see Thompson in a game for the first time in months. He will do it at home.
The Warriors were off to a 15-2 start in November and he said they would be better once he returned.
Kerr spoke to the team this past week about the changes that will be made to the rotation, given that there will be less minutes and opportunities for players who have contributed a lot already.
